Me and the girls (more Dylen than Rhyen) were doing some dancing to the Jason Mraz song "I'm Yours" in the kitchen recently...according to Jay, I was being a dork, but that's a good thing I think. Anyways, check it out.
Jeremy said that "The family that rocks together, stays together"...or maybe he was just quoting a t-shirt. Either way, this was the 3rd Flogging Molly concert that me, Dad and Jeremy have been to together. However, this time, Super Dave came along with a few of his buddies. This was the first time that we know of that they had played The Pageant. If you haven't been there, you need to go. It's really a great venue and there's not a bad seat in the house. The two bands that opened for them The Mighty Stef and somebody else, were also really good.
Rhyen has emerged herself into the pop-star drama queen lifestyle by becoming a member of her school's Spirit Squad. I wouldn't say she's ready to hang up her skateboard and cleats just yet, but she certainly likes doing this kind of stuff....so that's one more step in the "girly" direction.
This past week (rather last 3-4 days) I got to go to New York City for work. The client that I support is based there in Times Square and wanted to do some training. We had some meet & greet time, training, and then I also just did normal work while in their office with the Project Manager. But then...at night, I was out on the town. Alex and Jon made sure that I was well taken care of by showing me some good sights and treating to the best meals. I actually drank a $135 bottle of wine....and it was good!! But for that much money, it BETTER have been good!!
There are some things in life that will never change...and that includes Dad. He will always be the rough and tough bad ass boy with a big ole heart for his grandkids...except now, he's a year older. Don't worry though, the folks at his work were kind enough to get him a coffin and adult pampers (I'm not changing them though). We met at mom & dad's house for some pizza and cake; of course we took a few pictures too.
As we all know, today was Christmas...wasn't it? Or were we just stuck in some warped space time continuum where everyone just gives out gifts?? Oh well, either way, me and the girls hung out with the family today for some holiday and as always, I took a butt load of pictures. I got some video too of the girls riding their new bikes but I'll edit it later and add it when I can.
My cousin Susie and her husband Alex are here this week visiting Alex's family for the holidays. Of course we had to fit them into our oh so busy schedule since they drove aaaaallll this way; but we had a great time anyways. Seriously though, it's always fun seeing Alex...and Susie's ok too. We went out to Longhorn Steakhouse, which I must say...it was my first time there and they make a killer steak...very good.
Today we gathered together for a family Christmas gathering over at my cousin Stacey's house. It was basically my mom's kids and family, my mom's sister and her kid's families, and then their father, my Papa. He had traveled here from Virginia so of course we all wanted to see him. The kids did a gift exchange, so of course they were excited about that. We had some great food, played some Wii, did some wrestling, caught up, and of course....took lots of pictures!
Every year, the city of St. Charles puts a considerable amount of time and effort into making Christmas fun on Main St. They have all these actors that walk around all weekend, greeting people, taking pictures with people, and handing out "trading cards" of sorts. They always make it so much fun for the kids. Given that we're only 2 blocks off Main St., we of course took a walk today to check it all out.
