Yeah, so I almost burned down my house...how's that for an opener?
So there we are...me and the girls, having a nice dinner. And being the thoughtful father I am decided to pre-heat the oven in order to make some fresh cookies. As we're eating, Rhyen says, "Daddy, I think the oven's on fire." Of course, I disregard her and tell her no, that I'm just pre-heating the oven. But then the smoke detector goes off and as I look around, I see a fire a blazin' comin' from the oven...literally. I quickly get the girls out of the house, and I attempt to put the fire out by smacking the dish towel on it to smother it....well that didn't work so well. Luckily the fire extenguisher was handy and I was able to put that bad boy out pretty quick...however, I now have a thin layer of sulfur all over my kitchen now and burnt plastic from the cupcake tray that was in the oven that originally started the fire...good times!
